Leroy Huizenga

About

Dr. Leroy Huizenga is Chair of the Department of Theology and Director of the Christian Leadership Center at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. He received his M.Div from Princeton Seminary in 2001 and his Ph.D. from Duke University in 2006 after spending a year writing and teaching on a Fulbright Grant at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt, Germany. He is the author of The New Isaac: Tradition and Intertextuality in the Gospel of Matthew (Brill, 2009) and an editor of Reading the Bible Intertextually (Baylor, 2009). After teaching at Wheaton College for five years, Dr. Huizenga was reconciled with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil of 2011. Dr Huizenga and his wife Kari reside in Bismarck, North Dakota with their two young children, Hans Arnold and Miriam Anne.
